FJ11/12 is same engine as xjr12/13. 2mm bore size increases between the 3 sizes. ignitions and carbs vary but otherwise mechanically identicle right down to the comp ratio until efi came along.

some speculation over whether fj11 had a bigger/better cam but this just seems to be the UK spec cam, all us and aus models had identicle cams but UK had better breathing.

heads, barrels and bottem ends all interchangable up to efi models.

Ducati Performance Monster Soft Panniers fit a Gen 4 Honda VFR750 very nicely :) The strap secures to the Givi rack bracket. And, despite the hole in the RH one, they remained completely waterproof... :D
    Looks kinda like this :)

The 'knob' on my wifes M750 gear lever fell off. It was replaced with a "tie down hook" from my B12.

I had an older GSX600F a few years ago and replaced the pegs with ones from a CT110. They weren't pretty, but they were cheap.

CRF 450 front sprockets fit Honda RS250 ('93-2000) gearboxes. Same shaft, the offset on the front side is identical, the rear side needs a Spacer of 3mm (24mm ID tube, or a fat washer :) )

Does anyone know a 17" wheel that will be a straight swap onto a Yamaha FJ1200 (currently fitted with a bastardly 16")?
This mod will mean we can fit decent tyres to a mates bike instead of cross plies.

    Thanks,
    Skipper

Do better to swap the whole front end, wouldn't you? Might not work out much dearer, either, considering the demand for spare wheels for track day machines.

Rear wheel. It has a modern size 17" front already. The rubber it has is virgin on dangerous. We'd like to put him on modern stuff. A BT023 is entirely possible to do at the front, but what about the 16" x about 2.5" rear?

Hmmm, that sounds a bit harderer. Prolly talking major re-engineering to run modern 17's in there.

Nothing wrong with BT45's, gripwise; worked fine on my K100RS and I never had trouble keeping up with most; worked even better two-up. Modern radials are better, but used correctly, the Bridgies are more than adequate.

There would be enough swing arm width to put at least a 160 in there. Not sure about a 180. All it really needs is a modern wheel. We just don't know which one.
